Well, Judo is indeed alive and well in Claremont and you are all to be congratulated on this wonderful accomplishment. I sincerely wish each of you and your club all the success in the world and I am very proud of what you all have accomplished.
It is not easy rebuilding, but it is very gratifying and worthwhile. Sometimes at odd moments, I wonder whether the "vision" of a thriving Judo community in America is a "hallucination" or an "abstract dream" born out of my intense love and appreciation for this martial art.
When I'm at the depths of despair, I look at Claremont where Judo is thriving and my spirit is again restored and I have the vitality to continue our collective quest for a real grass roots American Judo program. Thanks for your encouragement by example, kanarazu katsu!
